Rights and Responsibilities
As a patient at Jefferson, you have the right to participate in decisions about your care. You also have multiple additional rights as a patient. These include, but are not limited to, your right to:
- Privacy and confidentiality
- Quality health care
- A safe environment
- Prompt emergency treatment
- Be treated as an individual
- Be communicated with clearly
- Know the identity of Hospital personnel
- Services without discrimination
- Access your medical records
- Give informed consent
- An advanced directive
- Request or decline treatment
- Be free from restraints
- Be informed of experimental, research, donor programs and educational activities
- An advocate
